Biography

Temy Tidafi is Professor at the School of Architecture and Director (and co-founder in 1992) of the Computer Aided Research Group (GRCAO) of the University of Montreal. He is an architect. His research interests include knowledge modeling, process modeling, architectural explorations in architectural design studios, parametric modeling, complexity and systemic approaches, and research methods.

Temy Tidafi holds a State diploma of Architecture from Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Design (EPAU), Algiers, Algeria, and a Master of Applied Sciences (M.Sc.A.) and a Ph.D. from the University of Montreal. He worked as an architect during the first several years of his professional experience, and turned to academia research and teaching since 1988. He is a faculty member of the School of Architecture of the University of Montreal since 1997. As such, he is (and was) involved in several interdisciplinary research projects that relate architecture, archaeology, pedagogy, computer sciences, etc. (some are directed by him). He is responsible of the “Integrated Architectural Design and Digital Explorations ” option of the Master’s degree at the School of Architecture of the University of Montreal. He supervises also Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows.
